Closet tour

I wish the hubby would just allow me to have our walk-in closet all to myself but I know that's not happening. So until I win that battle I try to work with what I have. I eventually would like to have a closet system but for right now this works for us.

I place an ikea desk to use as a vanity and I also made my own nail polish rack. The nail polish rack was made out of foam boards from dollar tree and decorated with scrapbook paper.

The Ikea Micke desk holds all of my make up that I don't use. Lol. Unless its a special occasion. It holds my perfume collection as well.

We also placed two Ikea Hermes dressers in our closet. One is on the hubby's side as well. I keep my jewelry on top.

So until the hubby allows me to take over his side I have to deal with this. I'm currently looking for ways to store my purses. They are starting to overflow the little bookshelf I have in the closet. Well that's all folks.

Impulse Shopping

Over the weekend I engrossed in YouTube videos.  I first started by looking at closet tours in hopes of finding ideas of organizing our walk-in closet.  For some reason, most of the videos I saw were people giving tours of their closet, but also mentioning certain products that they recently purchased.  In video after video I heard about Revlon Lip Butters and Maybelline's Baby lips.  Well, I just couldn't help myself and had to find out what they hype was all about.

So I purchased two Revlon Lip Butters in Peach Parfait, and Brown Sugar.  Then I purchased baby lips in Peach Kiss.  Well after applying, I can understand why there is such an uproar on the lip butters, but I could have left the baby lips in the store.  I think I will give the peppermint baby lips a try, but I know I won't be buying any of the others.

As I sit here and type this post the lip butter is still smooth although I recommend some type of lip exfoliant before starting to use any of these products.  That will insure smooth application.  I see more lip butters in my future.  While shopping at Rite Aid, I couldn't help but notice all of the 75% off stickers.  They had tons of nail polishes on sale.  The two pictured above were only 50 cents a piece.  I will go back tomorrow for some other colors.

Happy Shopping!!!

LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics Haul

This week I did a little shopping and stopped by the LUSH Cosmetics store!!! I heard about LUSH, but have never tried it. I watched numerous YouTube videos on reviews about their products. Before you even walk into the store you can see all of the wonderful goodness through the window. Some of their bath products look as if you are in a candy store. They have bath bombs to shampoo for your hair.

I actually purchased the Buffy which is a exfoliant and moistourizer. I tried it in the store and this is definitley for people who do no like to put on lotion on these hot summer days. Your skin will defenitley stay moisturized all day. I also got a piece of the Rockstar soap and the Fig and Leaves soap.

Don't get me wrong I was a bit taken back by the price of their products. While searching on YouTube I saw videos on how to cut the soap into smaller managaeble pieces so that they last longer. I am going to cut mine today so that I can salvage as much of it as I can. I heard that they melt fast in water. For the price I want to keep it for as long as possible. I think next time I will try some of their Bath Bombs and Bath Bubbles. Overall it's a really cool store and do know I will go back. Check them out you can order online if there isn't a store near you. LUSH Cosmetics

100th Day of School

My daughter had to wear something for the 100th day of school. At first I was thinking what in the world is she going to wear. So of course, I let my fingers do the walking and hit the WWW. I found numerous projects, that I didn't really have time for. Although there were a few that didn't really didn't take up much time such as making a necklace out of 100 Cherrios or Fruit Loops. I couldn't just settle for average. So I stayed up late the night before she had to wear the item and made her a shirt of 100 ribbons. Of course before I completed the shirt I had to get her permission. There is nothing like an angry 3 year old in the morning when they don't want to wear what you have chosen for them to wear. So after I got her permission here is how it turned out.

Junk Drawer Organization

I was inspired by what I saw over at A Bowl Full of Lemons and Organizing Junkie. They have tons of organizing projects going on right now and tips to help get your home organized. I am so busy with two little ones that I need all of the organizing tips I can get. A few extra hands won't hurt either. Anyway, I decided to stop by my local dollar store and pick up some baskets to help organize our junk drawer in our kitchen. Everybody has one of those. It's just a catch all for things you need when you need them. So here are my before and after shots. I am proud of my accomplishmebnt and I just hope that we can keep it this way.

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

A TACKLE TIMES THREE

Tackle #1 is trying to get my two year old daughter to use the potty. This is a very daunting task. If you have any advice please leave it in the comment area. I am in desparate need of help. So far it is not going well. Today I purchased a kitchen timer from the school box. I tried to find one that would peak her interest. So I found this cute little timer with a worm on it, I explained to her that the worm was hard at working eating the apple to remind her to use the potty. We have had 2 accidents and one success so far...

Tackle #2 is handling an infant who is only one month old while trying to entertain a two year old. To top it all off the two year old is sick. So now I am trying to handle a one month old infant, entertain a two year old and keep the two year old at bay to keep the infant from getting sick. ADVICE please is despartely needed. I am new to this more than one child gig! If one child is sick how do keep the other one healthy? Lysol and hand sanitizer is in full affect! Now you wonder what else could I be doing...

Tackle #3 is trying to potty train a toddler, handling an infant, entertaining a two year old, keeping the infant cough free, all while trying to finish graduate school. I am currently working on my doctoral degree I just started classes yesterday. What was I thinking I need at least one more semester off! I was able to get in one chapter of reading in my book this afternoon. I am so ready for DH to get home!!!

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

Ok, on my last Tackle it Tuesday Post, I talked about moving and the overwhelming feeling it may bring. We have been here a month and still have not finished unpacking everything. So this weekend I decided to tackle the master bedroom closet. There were boxes and baskets from the front of the closet to the back. Here's a before shot:
