Tackle It Tuesday!

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

A TACKLE TIMES THREE

Tackle #1 is trying to get my two year old daughter to use the potty. This is a very daunting task. If you have any advice please leave it in the comment area. I am in desparate need of help. So far it is not going well. Today I purchased a kitchen timer from the school box. I tried to find one that would peak her interest. So I found this cute little timer with a worm on it, I explained to her that the worm was hard at working eating the apple to remind her to use the potty. We have had 2 accidents and one success so far...

Tackle #2 is handling an infant who is only one month old while trying to entertain a two year old. To top it all off the two year old is sick. So now I am trying to handle a one month old infant, entertain a two year old and keep the two year old at bay to keep the infant from getting sick. ADVICE please is despartely needed. I am new to this more than one child gig! If one child is sick how do keep the other one healthy? Lysol and hand sanitizer is in full affect! Now you wonder what else could I be doing...

Tackle #3 is trying to potty train a toddler, handling an infant, entertaining a two year old, keeping the infant cough free, all while trying to finish graduate school. I am currently working on my doctoral degree I just started classes yesterday. What was I thinking I need at least one more semester off! I was able to get in one chapter of reading in my book this afternoon. I am so ready for DH to get home!!!

Your daughter is 2? My biggest piece of advice - don't try too soon. They are not going to do it until they are good and ready, and every child is different. My son was 4 before he was completely trained, but when he was ready, he did it overnight. I spent way too much time being frustrated thinking it would never happpen. I wasn't even going to think about it with my daughter until she was closer to 3, so I wouldn't go through all that again. But at 2 1/2 she seemed very ready and was completely trained in about a week. I have a few tips that worked for us (when she was ready) if you'd like, but I don't want to fill up your entire comment section! Click on my name to get to my profile and email me if you'd like me to share what worked for us. Everything will come together...soon you'll be a pro!!!

aww Sorry your lil one is sick! Hope you can keep the baby from getting sick. Besides sanitizing and keeping them apart as much as possible, I really don't have any other advice for that. :( Sorry!

As for the potty training, I wouldn't stress it too much. If she doesn't seem that interested I would not focus too much on it because it could cause her to get stressed and it makes it even harder for her. I would throw it into conversation and praise any good cues or progress but not mention too much if she doesn't seem interested. Wait a week and see how she responds. :) I am sure you're doing a great job!

As for the school! WOW! Yeah I bet your head is spinning. Can you talk your registrar or someone about putting your studies on hold for a semester? I can imagine that would be a lot to take on all at once! I don't have a doctoral, but I have a B.A. in Criminal Justice and another in Graphic Design, so I know school can be stressful and time consuming. I LUCKILY finished the last one at 2 months pregnant. I couldn't have done it with kids. I take my hat off to you ma'am! hehe.

Don't forget to take time for yourself. I know it's practically non existent, but when both babies are in their beds at night take 10 minutes and do something for you. :)

I hope you get this all tackled! Wish I had better advice! Good Luck!

Thanks for stopping in one of our stores and buying a timer (and then blogging about it)! I sure hope it helps accomplish the goal. We would love to help "supplement" your next visit to your neighborhood School Box with a $10 gift card.

I can either have it waiting for you at the store of your choice or pop one in the mail for you. Just e-mail me and we can add some School Box green to your wallet. :)
